Bardeen started as a browser extension that automated repetitive tasks with "playbooks." Today its focus is mostly sales and prospecting: it extracts data from web pages, enriches leads with web search and AI, lets you describe your ideal customer so leads are prioritized, and sends the results to spreadsheets and CRMs. So if you expect a general-purpose browser assistant, it doesn't match the product's current shape.
What is Bardeen good for?#
- Building prospect lists: from the results of a directory or professional network search, you pour names and companies into a table.
- Enriching contact information: finding the email and phone number tied to each lead.
- Prioritizing leads: write your ideal customer and AI brings the best fits to the top.
- Extracting data from websites: for example collecting specifications and prices from several stores for competitor analysis.
- Sending to other tools: the output lands in a sheet or CRM so the team works on it directly.
Strengths and weaknesses#
Strengths:
- No-code data extraction from inside the browser.
- Integrates with common sales and spreadsheet tools.
- Suits a small team that wants to start quickly.
Weaknesses:
- It focuses on sales, and lacks the flexibility of Zapier or Make for general automation.
- The credit model makes usage hard to predict.
- Scraping some sites can conflict with terms of use or privacy law, and the responsibility is yours.
- Older features and general-purpose playbooks are less central to the product than before.
Free version and pricing#
Bardeen has some free credits, enough for testing; beyond that there are paid plans with more monthly credits. Each extraction or enrichment spends credits according to its type. Check the official site for current prices.
Language support and availability#
The interface and smart features are built for the English-speaking market. Text can be pulled from pages in other languages, but smart understanding and enrichment for them or for the Iranian market aren't dependable. Whether it is reachable from Iran is not something we can state with certainty.
