An AI skill (Agent Skill) is a folder with a file named SKILL.md that teaches the AI agent to do a specific task correctly: from “code review in our team's style” to “building an Excel file” or “systematic debugging”. The agent reads the file only when it needs it, so the context window doesn't get cluttered. Anthropic introduced this standard and now Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor and Gemini CLI all read it.
How do I use it?
Open any skill and SKILL.md Download, or with “Build a custom version” add your project details to it. If you need several skills, add them to a pack and from Build a bundle get a zip with the right folder structure for your tool; just unzip it in your project root. Frequently asked questions
What is an AI skill (SKILL.md)?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file that teaches AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Cursor and Gemini CLI how to do a specific task correctly. The agent reads it only when it needs it, so your project doesn't get cluttered.
How do I install a skill in my project?
Download the SKILL.md file and put it in your tool's skills folder: for Claude Code in .claude/skills/<name>/SKILL.md, for Codex in .agents/skills, for Copilot in .github/skills and for Cursor in .cursor/skills. “Build a pack” prepares the same structure as a zip.
What does “Build a custom version” do?
It appends your project's details (name, description, technologies, response language and special rules) to the end of the skill, so you get a file written exactly for your project that is given to the AI without extra explanation.
Where do these skills come from and what are their licenses?
From reputable official open-source repositories such as Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub, Microsoft and Vercel and popular community collections, all with open licenses (Apache, MIT or CC0). Each item's source and license are shown beside it, and the directory is updated every day.
How do a rule and an agent differ from a skill?
A rule is a standard the assistant follows in all its answers (like .mdc rules in Cursor); an agent is the definition of a specialized role with its own tools; a skill is the instructions for a specific skill that is loaded only when needed.
