Who is a content creator?#
Someone who regularly makes and publishes something: cooking tutorials on Reels, phone review videos on YouTube, a podcast or a blog. What sets them apart from an ordinary user is consistency, planning and purpose.
Difference from an influencer#
Every influencer makes content, but not every content creator is an influencer. Someone who makes excellent educational content for months but has a small audience is a content creator. When their audience grows enough to change other people's decisions, they become influential.
Skills needed#
- Idea generation and storytelling.
- Simple recording and editing.
- Writing captions and appealing titles.
- Knowing the audience and the platform.
- Patience and persistence.
Ways to earn income#
Brand promotions, selling their own course or product, platform payouts, audience support and affiliate sales.
Example#
Maria posts three short videos a week about budget interior design. After a year, several furniture and decor brands want to work with her.
Advice#
Start with one specific topic. General, scattered content makes it harder to build a loyal audience.
