Notta is a speech-to-text and meeting-notes tool. You record an online meeting or upload an audio or video file and, within minutes, get a transcript, a summary and key points. What sets it apart from similar tools is that it is built for both meetings and standalone files such as interviews and lectures, with translation of the transcript alongside.
What is Notta good for?#
- Work meetings: get a transcript and a summary of decisions without taking notes by hand.
- Interviews and research: turn a recorded interview into searchable text.
- Classes and webinars: a student keeps the lesson text to review and pull out key points.
- Content creation: transcribe your own video and edit the text for an article or subtitles.
- Translating a transcript: translate the meeting text into another language.
Strengths and weaknesses#
Strengths:
- Both meeting recording and file upload.
- Summaries and translation alongside transcription.
- Web, mobile and browser extension versions.
- Support for dozens of languages.
Weaknesses:
- Persian availability and quality are unconfirmed and must be tested.
- The free plan is limited, and regular work needs a subscription.
- Poor audio, noise and regional accents lower accuracy.
- Transcripts always need human review.
Free version and pricing#
Notta has a free plan with limited allowances for time and per-recording length, plus a subscription for heavier use. Reports differ on the exact limits, so check the official site for current terms.
Language support and access from Iran#
The tool advertises dozens of languages, but I have not independently confirmed Persian in its official list; test a short Persian file on the free plan. I am also not sure about access from Iran, and subscription payment is international.
Notta alternatives#
