Lara Translate is an AI translator from Translated, a company with a long history in translation. It does more than text: it handles documents, images, audio and even a live voice interpreter. What sets it apart from simple translators is that you can choose the translation style (faithful, fluid or creative), add context, build glossaries and request review by a human translator when needed.
What is Lara Translate good for?#
- Document translation with layout kept: translate common files such as PDF, Word, PowerPoint and Excel without breaking the layout.
- Business text: an online store owner translates product descriptions with a fixed brand glossary.
- Image translation: translate the text inside a picture or design while keeping its look.
- Audio and conversation: translate an audio file or a live conversation.
- Integration: a technical team uses the API, SDK or browser extension to automate translation.
Strengths and weaknesses#
Strengths:
- Control over translation style, added context and glossaries.
- Document and image translation that preserves appearance.
- An incognito mode that does not store content or use it for training.
- Optional human review for sensitive text.
Weaknesses:
- Coverage and quality for Persian are less well known than for European languages.
- Few community guides and tutorials.
- Advanced features and high volume are paid.
- Formal or legal text still needs human review.
Free version and pricing#
Lara Translate has free access and paid plans for more volume and features. Human translation and organizational use go through a separate sales route. Check the official site for current prices and limits.
Language support and access from Iran#
Persian is in Lara's language list, but I have not independently tested its quality; try sample texts before serious use and review important translations. I have no reliable information about access from Iran, and subscribing requires international payment.
Lara Translate alternatives#
- DeepL: a quality-focused translator with document translation and glossaries, stronger for European languages.
- Google Translate: free with very wide language coverage; more practical for everyday use.
- iTranslate: a mobile app for text, voice and camera translation, good for travel.
